About Doug Robb
Music was a part of me since I was four, spinning around the living room to Irish Rovers songs. The real turning point came when I was quietly singing “Careless Whisper” in my parents’ car – their stunned reactions told me I had something, though it could’ve just been shock that a kid knew all the words to that saxophone masterpiece.
I put songs together instinctively, with melodies flowing out of me so easily – much to everyone’s enjoyment, I’m sure. When my dad died during my teenage years, I poured that pain into my music. I formed a band, hit the road, toured across Canada, and landed songs in the top 100 charts.
Then life threw a curveball – my daughter arrived unexpectedly. I traded my guitar for a briefcase and spent a decade pretending to find spreadsheets as exciting as guitar solos. Spoiler alert: they’re not. The stage kept calling, the songs kept coming, and eventually I escaped my corporate life to get back doing what I love… creating music!
