After successfully recording 4 albums and touring across Canada, I took a 10 year hiatus to raise my daughter. Now, the opportunity is here for me to focus on my goal of creating and performing music as a career, in which I am truly excited and ready for. The time away from the studio has provided me with a newfound inspiration and desire to write new songs, record them and share them with the world. I have a compelling calling to create more messages through my music and help this world that feels lost and uninspired. I believe my music can elicit emotions, spark creativity, inspire change, and create a lasting connection with my listeners. One song can encourage people to feel joy, sadness, nostalgia, or power and can be a source of comfort and strength. It can also bring people together, encouraging them to share their stories, memories, and perspectives. Music can be an agent of personal and collective transformation, helping us to express our deepest feelings, fears and experiences. That is the power of a great song, and with the support of this grant, I am excited to bring all of this to the world with the goal of having an EP fully written and recorded and ready to perform to various audiences.
